Mobile Communications - Flextronics Acquires Agilent's Camera Module Business

Flextronics announced it has acquired Agilent's camera module business for US$26 million, without disclosing specific terms. The acquisition, expected to finalize by the end of 2004 is seen as a complimentary move by both companies. Through the deal, Flextronics will be able to consolidate its component line-up and boost ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) business, while Agilent can serve customers through Flextronics' handset design and assembly services.

 

Agilent will continue its business of image sensor solutions for mobile, consumer, and automotive applications, as well as other key components.
