Taiwan-based ADlink, a global provider of advanced embedded modules, recently announced that it has cooperated with Sageran, a global 5G protocol stack solution provider, to deepen the cooperation through end-to-end 5G open RAN (Radio Access Network) solutions, the Commercial Times reported on October 23. They will provide telecom operators improved interoperability, enhanced innovation, and continued cost reduction through the setup of a lab to develop integrated 5G open edge solutions for public and private networks. 5G RAN plays an essential role to boost the rollout of 5G networks. The cooperation aims to provide an open infrastructure for both companies to accelerate the development of high-performance and scalable 5G RAN solutions by integrating ADLink’s hardware devices with Sageran’s flexible 5G base stations. The tie-up is expected to accelerate the development of edge solutions for private 5G networks that meet the needs of demanding industrial applications such as V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything), and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things).
