Taiwanese telco Chunghwa Telecom recently announced that the company has cooperated with Watsons to seize cloud-based smart healthcare market opportunities by connecting healthcare services with individuals, work places, hospitals, and communities, the Economic Daily News reported on December 5. In response to the 2.0 long-term care policy advocated by Taiwan’s government, the company launched a new smart health cloud service to offer telemedicine services in communities this March, connecting overseas and local medical equipment manufacturers and chain pharmacies. Under Chunghwa Telecom-Watsons tie-up, the first phase is to introduce the telco’s smart healthcare solutions to 10 Watsons’ branches in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Meanwhile, the telco also is planning to the development of a health management system that integrates smart voice control with smart appliances while developing services such as voice medication reminders and smart home and building solutions.
