Taiwan Mobile Forms its 5G Super Alliance with Over 100 Local and Overseas Partners

Taiwanese telecom operator Taiwan Mobile recently announced that the company is poised to establish a “5G super alliance” with over 100 companies in Taiwan and around the world, the Economic Daily News reported on July 30. The key areas of the alliance led by Taiwan Mobile will focus on smart stadium, smart parking, smart home care, and smart retail solutions. Taiwan Mobile and the other members of the alliance are to set up IoT platforms and solutions ready for 5G, IoT, and IoV (Internet of Vehicle) applications. Over 100 members have joined the alliance such as Nokia, HTC, Quanta, ASUS, Accton Technology, Askey, Arcadyan Technology, Alpha Networks, Garmin, Grandren, Aemass, and Funique. On top of that, Taiwan Mobile has also joined the Bridge Alliance, an alliance made of 36 telecom operators in Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Besides, 5G Pilot Team, led by Chunghwa Telecom with other big-name members such as Qualcomm, Nokia, Ericsson, Compal, Inventec, Quanta, HTC, MediaTek, is also dedicated to developing 5G+8K, AR, autonomous cars, drone, and smart city solutions for 5G applications. And 5G Pioneer Team, led by FarEasTone Telecoms, is also in place to deploy 5G business plans in IoV and smart transportation with team members like Ericsson, Nokia, GemTek, SerComm, Arcadyan Technology.
