ASUS Unveils New Plans for Gaming Smartphones and AI

Taiwanese ASUS launched a new ROG (Republic of Gamers) smartphone priced between 3,499 RMB (US$517.6) and 6,000 RMB (US$887.6) on July 22 with an aim to tap the high-end gaming market in China, the Economic Daily News reported on July 23. Chinese consumers can now make pre-order on JD.com and phones will start shipping on July 31. With 13 years of efforts in developing its ROG brand, ASUS has a comprehensive gaming solution and ecosystem. According to another Economic Daily News, ASUS also entered a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Singapore-based Certis Group on July 24, under which ASUS will assist Certis in setting up a highly efficient AI cloud-based system similar to TWCC (Taiwan Computing Cloud), a cloud-based service platform jointly developed by ASUS, Quanta, Taiwan Mobile, and Taiwan’s NCHC (National Center for High-performance Computing). Coupled with Certis’ strength in AI applications and big data collected from smart security systems installed in government and public administrations, universities & campuses, seven airports, and over 36 shopping centers and hospitals in Singapore, both parties aim to make digital transformation really happen in the global smart security market.
