Synopsys recently announced that it has initiated a cooperation plan with five leading universities in Taiwan, including NTU (National Taiwan University), NTHU (National Tsing Hua University), NCTU (National Chiao Tung University), NCKU (National Cheng Kung University), and NCU (National Central University), to help them establish their own AIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) lab, the EETimes reported on April 16. Under the tie-up, Synopsys is to provide its university partners AI and machine learning packages, development kits, and learning materials to help them build up their lab's R&D capacity and foster semiconductor design talent. This is to help Taiwan lay solid ground for an innovative AI ecosystem.
