Foxconn announced on March 18 that the company plans to continue the construction of its Wisconsin plant this summer at the earliest and the plant is set to begin production by the end of 2020, the United Daily News reported on March 19. The new facility will be a 6G LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) plant to assemble small-area panels for smartphones, tablets, and TVs instead of advanced large-area panels for TVs and other consumer electronics products as initially planned. Panels produced will be initially used in the education, medical and healthcare, entertainment and sports, security, and smart city sectors.
