Taiwanese Electronic OEMs Expand its Oversea Market to Avoid Trade War

       Even the US-China trade war has signaled some positive progress, Taiwanese electronic OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) such as Pegatron, Quanta Computer Incorporated, Inventec Corporation, Compal, Wistron Corporation still take  themselves precautionary measures for any future uncertainties. To avoid the unpredictability of the US-China trade war and the ever-rising wage of China, these vendors plan to invest for total NTD 50 billion in expanding capacity in Southeast Asia, South America, and Taiwan, the Economic Daily News reported on February 24.

       Pegatron plans to allocate about NTD 9.3 billion (USD 3 billion; USD1=NTD31.0) for expanding the scale of factories focused on the orders of branded smartphones in Indonesia; Wistron Corporation plans to allocate about NTD 21.6 billion for production facilities in India; Compal takes precaution in its risk management by getting the plants ready in Vietnam and Taiwan; Inventec Corporation chooses Taiwan, Malaysia, and Mexico as its shipment bases; Quanta Computer Incorporated aims to further magnify its investment in AI(Artificial Intelligence)field in Taiwan by allocating NTD 4.2 billion for smart manufactures and AI labs.
