3D Printing Clusters to Be Formed in the Southern Taiwan Science Park
December 27, 2018

The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Southern Taiwan Science Park threw a “Southern Park 3D Printing and Manufacturing Cluster Launching Ceremony” in the Southern Taiwan Science Park today, the Liberty Times reported on December 25. There are more than ten local vendors specializing in 3D printing materials, equipment, software service, and application in the Southern Park, which shows the industrial supply chain to be gradually formed. The result of 3D printing research and development from the Ministry of Science and Technology has been quite impressive with four spinout companies established so far. Those include the first smart phone printing company T3D, the 3D printing powder company Circle Metal Powder, the 3D digital dentistry system printing company, and Choice Technology. Moreover, the FoiAM 3D built in Kaohsiung Park in 2017 can provide assistance in designing, manufacturing, and certifying medical materials and will then introduce domestic materials and equipment from medical applications. The development can also be expanded to other industrial applications and help bring the Southern Taiwanese Park’s air-space and other metal industries into the 3D printing industrial supply chain.
