Supported by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taipei-based government-backed research institute III (Institute for Information Industry) recently displayed four application innovations pertaining to Blockchain, AI (Artificial Intelligence), IoT (Internet of Things), and VR (Virtual Reality) technologies, the Economic Daily News reported on September 27. In addition to assisting Taiwan's local and foreign companies in developing new technologies, III will also collaborate with international big names such as Amazon and Microsoft to jointly develop IoT services, smart factory AI solutions, and smart science parks. Among them, III's new social interaction platform, dubbed OinVR Platform, has demonstrated how VR technology can be applied to 360 panoramic live stream and video mobile platforms and enables multiple people to connect together to share the same virtual space, with intuitive gesture recognition and voice communications support.
