USPACE recently announced the completion of the angel funding with major investments from Taiwanese TMS Group, according to Business Next on May 24, 2018. With an estimated value of about NT$ 53 million (USD 1.8 million, USD1= NT$30.2), USPACE is a six-month-old startup dedicated to shared car parking spaces service. With an app platform and IoT ULock, USPACE integrates private parking spaces with drivers to solve the shortage of parking spaces in the urban area and reduce the time to find a space. In Taipei City, USPACE has been able to connect over 500 parking spaces in the down town area and have accumulated over 10 thousands of matches. Other than integrating with eTag parking service, USPACE also has connected with an online parking payment service iParking, planning to expand the service coverage to parking spaces reservation and monthly car space sharing at specific parking lots. In addition to USPACE, TMS Group also invests in online car-hailing service platforms such as TaxiGo and JoinMe with an aim to gain a significant share in smart transportation.
