May 25, 2018

Acer ITS and Taiwan's Tainan City government have signed a BOT (Build Operate Transfer) agreement to construct a smart parking meter system in Tainan with an aim to jointly promote the concept of smart transportation and make Tainan one of low-carbon cities in Taiwan, the China Times reported on May 4. Pursuant to the agreement, Acer ITS will introduce a system into 2,000 parking spaces across Central and Western, Eastern and Anping Districts of Tainan city within a year. When it is done, the parking turnover rate will be significantly improved. Acer ITS will continue to integrate new technologies into the system such as integrating AI technology to help the system accurately identify vehicle license plates. In addition, the system will also be connected to Tainan's most popular parking app which provides parking information of 376 parking lots.
