Taiwan Mobile recently announced that it will complete NB-IoT (Narrowband-Internet of Things) network deployemnt in six major cities in Taiwan towards the end of March and hit 100% national coverage by the end of June this year, according to the Economic Daily News on March 21, 2018. In addition, the company also announced its cooperation with about 50 international and local partners on March 21 to jointly tap the business opportunities from IoT applications, especially in wearable devices, smart home, and smart city segments. With support of 50 major partners, including big names like Nokia, Advantech, Everlight Electronics, and Lite-On Technology, Taiwan Mobile expects 3 million IoT devices to be connected to its platform by 2020, up from the current 200,000, according to the same source.
