Foxconn Invests Additional US$99.9 Million in India for Own-brand Smartphones

Foxconn announced that its subsidiary Wonderful Stars will acquire Rising Stars Mobile India for NT$2.96 billion (US$99.9 million; US$1=NT$29.6) to expand the presence of its own-brand InFocus phones in the Indian market, the Economic Daily News reported on January 5. Rising Stars will raise its capital to US$204.5 million, with the 99.95% stake to be owned by Wonderful Stars while the remaining 0.05% stake own by Aptech Electronics, another 100% owned subsidiary of Foxconn which is registered in Singapore.
