Alibaba Cloud has doubled the processing capacity and data storage of its data center located in Hong Kong with an aim to catch up with the increasing demand for secure and scalable computing services, reported South China Morning Post on February 13. Upon the completion of expansion, the data center boasts to handle disaster recovery, provide better access to data analytics and storage, and cloud security services. While Alibaba strives to reinforce its cloud computing service capability, other data center operators, such as China Unicom and PCCW, also have their own data centers available in the city, according to the same source.
