Smart manufacturing company Maxnerva Technology Services, a subsidiary of Taiwan's Foxconn, announced to team up with Intel Corporation to promote smart factory solutions under the "Made in China 2025" initiative, reported China Times on November 4. Maxnerva will initially adopt Intel's connected-machine solutions in Foxconn's Wuhan facility as the first mile on the road to Industry 4.0. The solutions, which are verified by Foxconn, will enable smarter production lines and connect the equipment to the Internet. By transmitting and analyzing data in the manufacturing process, the solutions can help operators better control product quality and carry out preventive maintenance or repairs. Foxconn plans to apply the solutions to its other production sites in China in the future should the solutions work well in Wuhan.
