Foxconn to Begin iPhone Repair Services in Shanxi, China
September 26, 2016

Foxconn has received the local government's approval to provide iPhone repair and maintenance services in Shanxi, China, where the company has two factories producing iPhones for Apple, reported the Economic Daily News on September 26. The repair services can help Foxconn realize a full coverage of the smartphone industry chains, from materials purchases and manufacturing to repair services. Earlier in March, Foxconn's subsidiary in Henan, China, also received permission from local government to carry out maintenance services for iPhones from seven countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia. The business model is estimated to save around 40% on the cost of iPhone repair and maintenance services, and may help Foxconn gain more orders from Apple.
