Gemtek Partners with AcSiP for Wearable Devices

Gemtek Technology, a Taiwan-based Internet communications device maker, has partnered with AcSiP Technology to unveil the world's first LoRa+MCU module using SiP (System in Package) techniques, successfully shrinking the module size to 13mmx11mm, compared to the 18mmx18mm of the prior generation, reported the Commercial Times on September 20. The upgraded LoRA+MCU SiP module is expected to be adopted in a wide range of applications, including wearable devices, pet tracking devices, machinery and merchandise tracking devices, home-care applications, landslide and water level monitors, pollution warning systems, and smart electricity meters. The report also said that Gemtek Technology has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Axiata Group, a Malaysian telecom conglomerate with operation in Asia, aiming to provide LoRA Iot (Internet of Things) solutions in Southeast Asian market.
