According to the Department of Statistics, MOEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs) on September 5, non-store retailing revenues in Taiwan totaled NT$216.7 billion (US$6.9 billion; US$1=NT$31.27) in 2015, of which e-commerce and mail order sectors accounted for 67.7%, or NT$146.7 billion (US$4.7 billion), logging a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 7.5% from 2011 through 2015. As of July this year, revenues of e-commerce and mail order sectors have reached NT$90.4 billion (US$2.9 billion), up 8.4% year on year, and is on track to reach a new high in full year, thanks to the increasing penetration of 4G network and more vendors developing mobile shopping apps in Taiwan. As for payment methods, credit card payments online is the largest at around 65.9%, followed by cash (25.6%) and debit card/e-wallet (8.5%).
