Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun) announced the strategic partnership with HTC on cloud computing and VR (Virtual Reality) technologies to develop low-cost solutions with high scalability, reported Central News Agency on August 9. The two companies will focus on innovation and integration of VR product technologies, coming up with solutions to bandwidth reallocation and data transmission and processing when producing, streamlining, and sharing VR content. Alibaba Cloud will also provide cloud services for Viveport, the app store of HTC Vive. Moreover, Alibaba Cloud currently has a developer community of over 500,000 members, which will be a great benefit for HTC Vive to penetrate the Chinese market.
