Taiwan-based industrial computer maker Advantech announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire US networking equipment supplier B+B SmartWorx for US$99.85 million, according to the company's press release on November 16. B+B SmartWorx will still be led by current management team and join Advantech's Industrial IoT (Internet of Things) Business Group. The acquisition is expected to complement Advantech in technology and in sales channels for North America and Europe, where B+B SmartWorx made 58% and 28%, respectively, of its US$59 million of revenues last year. The transaction is expected to finalize in 1Q2016.
