Cisco has announced a plan to set up a JV in China with Inspur, a China-based cloud computing and datacenter company, reported Hong Kong Wen Wei Po on September 25. The two companies will initially invest US$100 million in network technologies and products, IT infrastructure, cloud datacenters, smart cities, and big data. Inspur will have a 51% stake in the JV while Cisco will own 49%. Funding of the JV is on top of the US$10 billion investment that Cisco pledged to spend over the next several years in China earlier this year.
