China to Buy Flat Panels worth US$4.5 Billion from Taiwan
May 29, 2015
A Chinese industry delegation, led by China Video Industry Association, said that they expect to place orders to Taiwanese suppliers for around 27 million flat panels worth US$4.5 billion this year, up from 23 million units worth US$3.5 billion in 2014, reported Economic Daily News on May 29. Despite constant expansion plans, Chinese panel makers still have to buy flat panels from Taiwan because they could only meet around 48% of Chinese TV makers' demand for flat screens. This year there will be eight 8.5G production lines put into mass production in China, with over 30% of the components made domestically for the first time.
