HTC to Increase Capacity on Strong Tablet Pre-orders
November 05, 2014

HTC said that the company is expanding production capacity to meet buoyant demand for the coming Nexus 9 tablet, which is cobranded with Google, reported Taipei Times on November 5. The company is also thinking of launching its own-brand tablet products, but is still taking a wait-and-see attitude by first observing market reaction to the Nexus 9, as the global tablet market is becoming saturated. Regarding HTC's smartphone business, it is reported that the company's combined shipments of flagship HTC One (M8), Butterfly 2, and mid-ranger Desire 816 have scored over 1 million units over the past six months.
