NCC (National Communications Commission) said that, as of the end of August, Taiwan's telecom operators have signed up over 650,000 subscribers to the 4G LTE services launched in June, reported China Times on September 30. Regarding market share by operator, Far Eastone Telecom took the leadership by grasping 39% of the market, or 250,000 subscribers, followed by CHT's (Chunghwa Telecom) 31% and Taiwan Mobile's 28%. Currently, around one-fourth of Taiwan's mobile Internet users are connecting through 4G networks. Overall, the government aims to have 1.8 million users subscribing to the 4G services by the end of this year.
