2018年第二季台灣智慧型手機出貨量為79,630千台，年衰退0.5%，同期產值達到14,545百萬美元，年增1.5%。由於受到Apple iPhone出貨的影響，通常第二季為台灣智慧型手機產業出貨的谷底。本季iPhone出貨較去年微幅增加，因此對年度表現影響不大。然而，我國品牌廠商由於手機製造轉為外包策略，加上過去長久合作的Sony與LG兩家品牌業者表現下滑，抵銷了台廠替華為與小米代工訂單的成長，因而本季整體出貨表現與往年相較，差距不大。
