Desktop PCs are indeed more suited to certain applications when compared to notebook PCs. Desktop PCs are naturally associated with the trait of being used in a fixed position, and how companies design the exterior and volume and integrate functions are crucial issues when launching a high-priced desktop product line.
With the trend of falling PC prices, there is still room for expensive notebook PC prices to be lowered. However, most desktop PCs are far less profitable. This is why desktop PCs have been instilled with new life and why the M-shaped trend has formed, giving rise to more high-priced desktop products. The examples and figures in this report relate to products ingrained with fashion elements. Although their prices may be high, they exhibit the wishes of companies to raise the added-value of their products as a means of earning more profit.
