Nortel recently announced that it will establish a WiMAX development and testing center in Taiwan, aiming to promote cooperation with Taiwan-based network equipment makers in developing WiMAX-related products. One of the main focus areas will be the mobile WiMAX 802.16e standard. Meanwhile, Nortel has also signed agreements with several local Taiwanese makers including Foxconn, with which Nortel intends to expand current cooperation.
