Matsushita and Tropian, a US wireless communications chip company, have signed an agreement, under which Matsushita will acquire Tropian's IP rights and technologies and Matsushita's subsidiary Panasonic Corporation of North America will obtain Tropian's core staff, which will then be transferred to Panasonic Emerging Advanced RF Laboratory (PEARL), a new division established in April. Other details about the deal were not yet announced.
