Samsung has developed a 1GB memory card whose size is 1/4 of the existing models and plans to start mass production in the second half of 2006. The memory card will be used in camera phones and is able to store 500 5MP pictures, three QVGA (Quarter Video Graphics Array) movies, or 250 songs. It also boasts a writing speed of 7MB per second, which is three times faster than other memory cards on the market.
