Huawei to Supply 3G Handsets to Vodafone
February 16, 2006
After signing a supply agreement with Vodafone for telecommunications equipment at the end of 2005, Huawei now has signed a deal with Vodafone whereby it will also supply the operator with 3G mobile phones, according to a statement by Vodafone on February 15. The phones will be sold in 21 countries starting in September 2006, and the deal will last at least five years. Huawei in recent years has increased its telecommunications equipment market share in Europe, but the new agreement offers Huawei an opportunity to increase its terminal product market share as well.
