Abstract

The report finds that the global motherboard industry declined slightly year-on-year and sequentially in the first quarter of 2017 with shipment volume of 26.3 million units. The decline was due largely to the less-than-expected performance of KabyLake CPU and the supply shortage of some key components such as power management IC. Shipment volume of the industry is anticipated to have reached nearly 25 million units in the second quarter of 2017 and the industry is to pick up pace in the third quarter of 2017.
