The Taiwanese Desktop PC Industry, 2Q 2017

Abstract

The report found that the Taiwanese desktop PC industry grew slightly in the first quarter of 2017, with shipment volume of about 12.0 million units. Fueled by the rollout of new gaming models from ASUS and MSI and the increasing share of high-end models, Taiwanese desktop PC ASP (Average Selling Price) decline managed to slow down in the first quarter of 2017. Nevertheless, the industry is anticipated to have witnessed year-on-year and sequential declines in the second quarter of 2017, traditionally the weak season for desktop PCs, but is forecast to resume growth in the third quarter of 2017.
