Abstract

This research report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the Taiwanese desktop PC industry. The report includes desktop PC shipment volume, value, ASP, shipment by tier and maker, product mix analysis, as well as breakdowns by customer, shipment destination, business type, and assembly location. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with desktop PC makers. The report found that shipment volume of the Taiwanese desktop PC industry reached 12.0 million units in the second quarter of 2016, which was better than previously expected. Affected by the higher-than-expected pull-in demand, plus the continued sluggish market, the Taiwanese desktop PC industry's shipment volume is expected to have reached 12.9 million units in the third quarter, up 6.7% sequentially but down 5.3% year on year. Without any new products waiting in the pipeline, desktop PC ASP (Average Selling Price) is expected to have continued declining in the third quarter.
