The Taiwanese Industrial PC Industry Witnesses Double-digit Growth in 2017: MIC

The Taiwanese industrial PC industry has paced faster in 2017, with shipment value of NT$179 billion (USD 6.2 billion; USD = NT$28.8) and year-on-year growth of 16.6%, according to Taipei-based and government-backed IT research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute). "The growth is mainly attributed to the momentum generated from several global acquisitions initiated by Taiwanese vendors in 2016," says Chris Wei, senior industry analyst at MIC.

"Shipment value of the industry is forecast to top over NT$200 billion (USD 6.9 billion) in 2018, up 12.2% year-on-year, with industrial IoT (Internet of Things) and smart manufacturing being the potential growth drivers."
