Nearly 80% of Smart Imaging Sensing Patents Focus on Computer Technology: MIC
August 25, 2017

According to the Strasbourg Agreement signed in 1971, the grouping of the technology sector and field is based on a concordance provided by IPC. Applying data mining techniques, Taipei-based research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute) compared and cross-examined 1.777 Smart Image Sensing patents, with an aim to gain a good understanding of their distribution by key technology field.

"The findings indicate 77% smart image sensing patents focus on Computer Technology. What is worth mentioning is Medical Technology, which still has a relatively small proportion so is the area that tech companies can invest more into," says David Chen, senior analyst with MIC.
