Carousell Establishes the first Overseas R&D Center in Taiwan

Carousell, a Singapore-based startup that operates a mobile-first listings service for second-hand goods and services in Southeast Asia, recently announced that they will expand investment in Taiwan by establishing its first overseas R&D center there, Chinese language site Commercial Times reported on November 22, 2017. For the future, it will develop in three directions: artificial Intelligence which enables users to launch their second-hand products to the platform from 30 seconds to 3 seconds; convenience which is about optimizing the logistics process and cash flow; and community is about connecting all kinds of communities to the platform. The R&D center, to be set up in Taiwan, will be mainly focus on convenience and community. Carousell entered Taiwan three years ago and has become Taiwan's largest second-hand C2C (Consumer to Consumer) auction website, So far, the company has recruited 18 software engineers for the R&D center.
