Hisense acquires Toshiba's TV Unit to Speed Up Global Expansion

Japanese Toshiba signed a deal selling 95 % of the shares of its subsidiary Toshiba Visual Solutions Corporation to China’s homegrown TV brand Hisense for 12.9 billion Yen (USD114.6 million, USD1= 112.6 Yen), according to a press release from Hisense on November 14. If the transfer completes at the end of February 2018 as planned, Hisense will be able to enjoy the television products, brands, operation services, and other business services of TVS, and use Toshiba brand authorization for 40 years. After the acquisition, Hisense can integrate both sides of resources to accelerate the TV development and expand the market scale.
