Taiwanese Advantech recently has formed an ELAA (Embedded Linux & Android Alliance) in cooperation with several partners for expanding presence in the Industrial IoT (Internet of Things) market, reported Economic Daily News, adding that Taiwan will be the first market that they plan to target. The alliance is dedicated to promoting a standardized and open hardware/software architecture based on Linux and Android OS. This will facilitate the development of embedded solutions for industrial IoT applications as ELAA members are now able to build a complete ecosystem to help tap the diverse market demand and promote the adoption of Linux and Android OS. Aside from Advantech, other alliance members include AIMobile, ArcherMind, Canonical, Lineo, Retronix, RTSoft, Timesys, ThunderSoft, and Witekio.
