TPV announced that it will set up new plants for TV assembly and component manufacturing in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province, China, reported Economic Daily News on February 21. TPV has a shipment target of 88 million in 2017, including LCD TVs, monitors, smartphones/tablets/touchscreen panels, and its panel supplier AUO will be the major beneficiary. The company has signed up an investment agreement with the Shaanxi Provincial Xianyang Hi-Tech Zone Committee to invest USD25 million for each plant, which is reportedly to have an annual capacity of four million units. Aside from AUO, TPV also purchases panels from Innolux and CPT, according to the same source.
