February 17, 2017

Taiwanese networking solution service provider QNAP Systems is poised to build a new office in New Delhi, India for about USD 10 million, with an aim to develop digital games and game technologies that promote health, reported Commercial Times on February 14. Through recruiting local talent, QNAP Systems wants to strengthen the R&D capability for new software products. With the Taiwanese government's southward policy, QNAP Systems plans to set up a new office in Delhi before the end of February 2017 so as to fully tap the opportunities from India's software development and population growth. In addition to India, the company also plans to set up an IoT experimental facility near New Hakka Culture Park, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, injecting more than NTD 1 billion (USD3.25 million; USD1 = NTD30.8) in the initial stage of development. With an area of 8262.5 square meters and currently under development, the new facility is expected to be completed by 2019.
